About Us
Since 1984, the Seven Lakes Recovery
Program has effectively helped adults and their families achieve abstinence,
and a drug-free life. We are an outpatient program that requires participation
for a year and regular attendance at 12-step meetings. Because chemical
dependency is a family disease, family members are expected to participate
in treatment. Professional help is available to assess and treat “dual
diagnoses”, such as mood disorders, anxiety and attention deficit
disorders.
Program Components:
Adults who participate in the Seven Lakes Program will:
- attend three groups per week initially, and gradually
reduce the number of groups per week as specific group goals are met.
All groups meet in the evening;
- attend two 12-step meetings per week throughout
the program;
- take Antabuse for the first 30 days unless medically
contraindicated.
Those adult persons who reside with the identified patient
are expected to attend the Education Group.
Client Objectives:
- understand the disease concept of chemical dependency;
- understand the progressive nature of the disease;
- understand the effects of specific drugs and alcohol;
- accept the destructive power that chemicals have
on peoples’ lives;
- develop a support system which will sustain recovery
- identify “relapse triggers” and plan
strategies to prevent relapse.
