Program Schedule
Education Group
This is a five-week education series covering the disease
concept in addictions, how addictions affect relationships, developing
healthy responses to difficult feelings, understanding denial, identifying
relapse triggers and developing a relapse plan, and understanding powerlessness
and unmanageability through working Step I of the 12-Step process.
Support Group
The primary focus of the Support Group is to assist
patients in developing a social support network that will encourage
patients’ long-term sobriety. The Support Group prepares patients
as they begin attending 12-Step Program meetings, i.e. Alcoholic Anonymous
or Narcotics Anonymous, and provides a therapeutic forum for working
through related obstacles, concerns, questions, etc. Goals of the group
include attending two or more 12-Step meetings weekly, developing a
sponsor relationship, and establishing a “home group” in
AA or NA.
Ongoing Recovery Group
Based on the most comprehensive research on best treatment
outcomes, each member is expected to commit to a full year in this group.
Any and all life issues members are dealing with provide the focus of
this process group. Thus, participants learn to identify and express
their feelings, struggles and successes as they move through the first
twelve months of recovery.
